We are currently remodeling our site. Please excuse our mess! We have tried to keep "essential" parts up and running.

Our kennel name is a combination of two, formerly separate programs, David's High Profile kennel prefix ("HPK") and Helen's Tropaco kennel prefix. Initially after we met, fell in love and married, we maintained separate kennels but, as time went on and our lines became more integrated, we decided it was more practical to merge the two.
Rhodesian Ridgebacks have been part of Helen's life since her childhood, with the family dog Tikka. Later, as a young adult, Helen lived and traveled with her big Rhodesian Ridgeback male, Cayenne. While living in the U. S. Virgin Islands, Helen first became involved in showing her Ridgebacks, and later began her breeding program with her foundation bitch Tigre (CH Ketaru's Tropaco Tigre). Helen has been active in both the national club and the regional club (San Diego Rhodesian Ridgeback Club) for which she spearheaded the effort to obtain AKC licensing and served several terms as President and Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer.
While David came from a family involved in the sport of purebred dogs, he did not get his first Rhodesian Ridgeback until 1996, when he purchased Shumba (DC Kimani's High Profile SC CGC FCH HIC ROM) from Kimani's Alicia Mohr (Hanna). Since then, David has become very active in the breed and has been an AKC licensed Lure Coursing Judge since 1998 and nearing completion of the requirements to apply for conformation licensing by the AKC. David is also a past President of the San Diego club, and currently serves as Vice President.
Our goal is simple: To ensure that Ridgebacks of our line possess form, function, temperament and type. For us, temperament is our starting point -- as we often say, the best looking Rhodesian Ridgeback that you can't live with isn't worth very much.
Our dogs can be found all over the United States and, indeed, all over the world including Canada, Europe and Asia.
The best way to contact us is via e-mail. We're often out on our five-acre property and don't always hear the phone.
